Experience & Requirements

  • State certification as a substance abuse counselor.
  • Experience in Modified Therapeutic Model preferred
  • Experience providing services within a correctional setting is preferred.

 

A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities

Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Substance Abuse Counselor with YesCare : 

  • Provide direct clinical services to the inmates of the Substance Abuse Treatment program as a "Primary Counselor."
  • As the "Primary Counselor,"  you will be responsible for completing initial assessments, group, and individual counseling and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
  • Conduct psycho-educational modules for all program participants.
  • Evaluate inmates referred for substance abuse treatment services to determine the appropriate level of treatment and if applicable the necessary agency to provide required services.
  • Document inmate evaluation or program participation in accordance with program procedures.
